The Livingstone Royal Golf & Country Club is situated in the historical town of Livingstone in Zambia, bordering the Victoria Falls, which became a World Heritage Site in 1989. The Club is around 20 minutes drive from the Falls and on some days you can see the spray whilst playing on the course.

The Livingstone Royal Golf and Country Club honours the tradition and history of the game of golf and offers golfers an unforgettable experience. Beautiful old trees line the fairways and greens. The course layout offers golfers a classic parkland challenge. The course is for traditionalists, as it is a return to golf as a game played on foot, where one enjoys not only the game but the surroundings as well. Type : Parkland Golf Course; Holes : 18; Par : 72; Fairway Grass : Bermuda; Greens Grass : Hybrid Bermuda; Length : Club - 6265m Ladies - 5482m.

History of the Club: The Livingstone Golf Club was built in 1908. It opened as a 9 hole golf course to supply entertainment and sport for the European settlers. The layout of the course then is not known but it is certain that playing conditions at their best were rough, although it did provide much good sport over the links to the early pioneers of the game in Africa.
In November 1910, His Royal Highness the Duke of Connaught and his wife the Princess Louise Margaret of Prussia visited the Club, and in 1925, the Prince Edward, the then Prince of Wales, was hosted by the Club.

Accommodation:
Livingstone Town offers a huge choice of accommodation of all types, from luxury hotels to romantic river lodges to more budget type accommodation, from which to enjoy the Victoria Falls and a round of golf at the Golf Club. In recent years there has been much development in the area with better roads, new hotels and lodges and a small shopping centre.

The Victoria Falls: The Falls are one of the seven natural wonders of the world and a spectacular sight. Locally known as the smoke that thunders - Mosi-oa-Tunya - the Falls plunge into a 300 ft gorge and spans 1.8km width of the mighty Zambezi River. It also spans the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. When the river is in full flood, the Falls are seen as the largest curtain of falling water in the world.

History of Livingstone Town:
Named after the famous Victorian missionary explorer, Dr. David Livingstone, Livingstone was established in 1905. As a major European settlement, the town was made the capital of Northern Rhodesia in 1911. As the capital, it enjoyed excellent facilities far superior to anything in the country, as can be seen from the surviving Edwardian colonial buildings that line the city's main road, and even had the distinction of having the country's first newspaper.

Course rating: The Livingstone Royal Golf & Country Club is an 18 hole par 72 course.

Course Policy: Members and guests welcome. One caddy per person compulsory.

Course designer: Peter Matkovich has recently redesigned the full 18 holes.
