Chundukwa River Lodge is conveniently located 23kms from Livingstone town and 48km from the Botswana border at Kasane.
With a maximum of 12 guests in camp, you are sure to receive personalized service and attention. The lodge is owner-run and the relaxed atmosphere is perfect for those wishing to get away from it all and soak up the sights and sounds of this beautiful corner of Zambia.
Situated on the grassy banks of the Zambezi River just 25km upstream from the mighty Victoria Falls, the elevated open-fronted chalets boast stunning views of the Zambezi River, Chundu Island and the Zambezi National Park across the river.
The lodge is located in a game-rich area and sightings of hippo and elephant, among other animals are common.
There is also an abundance of plant and birdlife to be found surrounding the lodge and on the River.

Lodging: The thatched chalets are built in traditional fashion to give a real feeling of the bush but with all the comforts necessary for a relaxing stay. All rooms have fans and mosquito nets.
The main lodge comprises of 5 open-fronted stilted chalets:-
1 family unit, which has a double and a twin chalet sharing a bathroom
3 en-suite double or twin chalets
1 honeymoon chalet with superking-sized bed, en-suite and panoramic views of the river
Access to all the chalets is via raised wooden walkways, giving a tree-house effect.
Each chalet has an uninterrupted view of the Zambezi River, and the Chundu Island sandbanks with its resident spur-winged geese.

Chundu Cottage: The latest addition to the lodge is Chundu Cottage, set on a private site amongst the Waterberry and Acacia trees with gorgeous river views.
Perfect for families or groups of up to six, the cottage boasts 2 double/twin en-suite bedrooms and 1 kids' bedroom with bunk beds.
Your private chef and waiter will ensure personalised service and pampering.
A guided tour of the Victoria Falls and a Sunset River cruise are included in the rate.
There is a viewing deck and splash pool to cool off in, and even satellite TV (if you’ve got the time to watch!)
Tasty home-cooking best describes the cuisine, incorporating the freshest Zambian produce giving a local twist. Any special dietary requirement can be catered for once notified in advance.
Dinner is a family affair where guests dine together sharing their experiences, or it can be taken privately for those who wish for some time alone.
The ‘Bush TV’ (Campfire) is always on under a blanket of stars and constellations.
And Peter, Orla or Xanthe are always on hand to assist guests in maximising their time in the Falls area, booking activities, arranging transfers and giving local advice.

Activities: Depending on the length of stay, we usually recommend the following itinerary:-
Day 1: Arrival & Sunset River cruise
Day 2: Tour of the Victoria Falls, museum, craft markets
Day 3: White water rafting, walking safari or Livingstone Island visit
Day 4: Tiger fishing/Horse trail/Canoe trip/Elephant back safari
Day 5: Microlight/Helicoptor over the Falls & departure.
We also run overnight canoe trips, camping on your own private fully-catered island.
Afternoons can also be spent lazing around the pool with a good book and an ice cold G & T.
